4. Troubleshooting Resources
-
Issue: The color picker isn't working or the keyboard shortcut doesn't respond.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and ensure SpectraColor is enabled.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and ensure SpectraColor is enabled (required for picking colors from screen).
- Try quitting and restarting SpectraColor.
- Check that no other app is using the same keyboard shortcut in Settings.
-
Issue: Colors look different from what I see on screen.
- SpectraColor captures the actual pixel color, which may differ from what you perceive due to display color profiles.
- Ensure your display is calibrated in System Settings → Displays → Color Profile.
- Some apps render UI at different color spaces — SpectraColor captures the sRGB value.
-
Issue: Gradient extraction isn't detecting colors correctly.
- Try a higher-resolution version of the image for better results.
- Images with very subtle gradients may produce fewer color stops.
- Ensure the image format is supported (PNG, JPEG, HEIC, TIFF).
-
Issue: Purchase not recognized / Pro features locked.
- Go to Settings and click 'Restore Purchases'.
- Ensure you're signed into the correct Apple ID.
- Check your internet connection and try again.
