2. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Q: How do I play Pocore?

A: Each round deals a 5x5 grid of cards. All ten lines — five rows and five columns — are scored as poker hands at the same time. Drag a card onto another to swap them and reshape your hands, then press SCORE to bank the board. Clear the target before you run out of radiation headroom.

  • Q: What do the radioactive (isotope) cards do?

A: Isotope cards multiply the score of any hand they're part of, and clustering them together grants escalating bonuses. The catch: every time you move an isotope card it adds to the radiation meter. If radiation reaches the limit, the core melts down and the run ends.

  • Q: Why did my run end?

A: Pocore is single-life. A run ends if you miss a round's score target or if the radiation meter hits its limit (a meltdown). The result screen tells you exactly which one happened.

  • Q: What is the free demo and what does the purchase unlock?

A: Pocore is free to download and the opening rounds are fully playable. A single one-time purchase, Full Game Unlock ($4.99), unlocks the complete twelve-round campaign, all eight bosses, the full workshop, and every build mod. There are no ads and no subscriptions.

  • Q: How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

A: Open the unlock screen and tap 'Restore Purchases'. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

  • Q: What are bosses?

A: Every third round is a boss round that adds a hazard — pinned cards, hidden cards, a quarantined zone, drifting isotopes, a board scramble, and more. Bosses are drawn from difficulty tiers and randomized each run, so the order changes every time.

  • Q: What is the Workshop?

A: Between rounds you spend the money you earn in the Workshop. You can enrich, irradiate or burn specific cards in your deck, and buy build mods that reshape how you score — poker boosts, radiation amplifiers, economy perks, and survival tools.

  • Q: What iOS versions are supported?

A: Pocore requires iOS 18.1 or later and is designed for iPhone.

3. Feature Overview

Pocore is a single-life puzzle roguelite that combines poker scoring, isotope clustering, and radiation as the cost of every move:

4. Troubleshooting Resources

  • Issue: The Full Game Unlock isn't recognized / rounds 4-12 are still locked.

    • Open the unlock screen and tap 'Restore Purchases'.
    • Ensure you're signed into the correct Apple ID.
    • Check your internet connection and try again.
  • Issue: A swap won't go through.

    • Some boss rounds restrict movement — pinned (NAILS) cards can't move, and the QUARANTINE zone can't be crossed.
    • The drag preview shows whether a target is legal before you release; an illegal target is tinted and explained.
    • Drop the card fully onto another cell; releasing outside the grid cancels the swap.
  • Issue: The radiation meter filled up too fast.

    • Only isotope (radioactive) cards add radiation when moved — plan routes that move them as little as possible.
    • The drag preview shows the radiation cost of a swap before you commit to it.
    • Survival mods such as Shielding (+1 limit), Lead Apron, and Coolant help you absorb more movement.
  • Issue: Audio or haptics aren't working.

    • Check the in-game Settings screen to confirm audio is enabled.
    • Make sure your device isn't in silent mode and the volume is up.
    • Haptics require a supported iPhone with system haptics enabled.
