2. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Q: How do I access my clipboard history?

A: Press Command+Shift+V (⌘⇧V) from anywhere on your Mac. The ClipKeep window will appear with your full clipboard history. You can also click the ClipKeep icon in your menu bar.

  • Q: Why isn't ClipKeep capturing my clipboard?

A: ClipKeep needs Accessibility permissions to function properly. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and make sure ClipKeep is enabled. You may need to restart ClipKeep after granting permissions.

  • Q: How do I paste without formatting?

A: Press Command+Shift+Option+V (⌘⇧⌥V) to paste the current clipboard content as plain text. You can also right-click any item in ClipKeep and select 'Copy as Plain Text'.

  • Q: What's the difference between Free and Pro?

A: The free version includes 25 items of text-only history, search, and the global hotkey. Pro unlocks unlimited history, image/file support, pinning, text transformations, paste queue, and export/import features.

  • Q: How do I restore my purchase on a new Mac?

A: Open ClipKeep Settings, scroll to the 'ClipKeep Pro' section, and click 'Restore Purchases'. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

  • Q: Is my clipboard data synced to the cloud?

A: No. ClipKeep stores all data locally on your Mac. Nothing is sent to any server. Your clipboard history is completely private.

  • Q: Why are some apps excluded from clipboard capture?

A: ClipKeep automatically excludes content from password managers (1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, etc.) for your security. Content marked as 'concealed' by these apps is never stored.

  • Q: How do I use the paste queue?

A: Right-click items in your clipboard history and select 'Add to Paste Queue'. Then press Command+Shift+N (⌘⇧N) to paste items in order, one at a time.

  • Q: Can I export my clipboard history?

A: Yes! Go to Settings → Data → Export History. This exports your text items as a JSON file. Images are excluded to keep file sizes manageable.

  • Q: What macOS versions are supported?

A: ClipKeep Pro requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later.
